Thank you for choosing Ocean Blue Education for your child’s summer adventure. We are excited to take part in your child’s future. Working as outdoor educators, we started to see a gap in experiential education. There are plenty of companies that provide an outdoor experience for young adults, but very few that provide them with a chance to take part in current ocean science. OBE is designed to provide students the opportunity to develop seamanship and ocean research skills. Students will learn to sail, dive, use ocean research materials and evaluate findings during their adventure.
Taking part in an excursion like this one can do so much for a young adult. Living in tight quarters requires everyone to work together and take part in all the daily operations of the boat.

From sailing the boat to cooking the meals, and yes even swabbing the deck, students will be living the life of a field biologist. This new and different atmosphere places everyone on the same level, creating self-confidence, connectedness and a sense of pride.
The difference between OBE and other summer programs is that we go beyond personal character development and actively involve our students in the changing world around them. Your child will feel the pride that comes from taking part in our ocean’s future. Their involvement in ongoing research will help develop skills that they will use throughout their student careers.
